5 Years!

We were married on 06/05/04 and celebrated 5 years of marriage on Friday. We spent the night at The Peninsula downtown and had the most amazing toddler-free 24 hours. I had a facial at the Peninsula Spa, we enjoyed the steam rooms and soaking tubs, the beautiful pool and hot tub and the overall pampering that the hotel provides. We enjoyed a sushi dinner at Japonais and returned to the room for champagne and watched our wedding video, which has become an anniversary tradition. We really felt that so much has changed in our lives these past 5 years. We have lost many family members; my Uncle Ernie, Grandpa Freeman, Grandpa Mahoney, Grandma and Grandpa Walker, and my dear friend Susan. Watching those who are no longer with us dance and laugh in our wedding video is so special. We also feel that we have aged so much these past years and look completely different (okay, maybe Andrew looks the same...) The one part of our video that we did not remember really blew our minds...at the end of the video the videographer asked us if we wanted to have children and what we would like to name them. We joked that we would never agree on names, but Andrew mentions that we both really like the name Ellie. We have no memory of ever saying that and it was so fun to see our younger selves foreshadowing the future. We are looking forward to a lifetime of more anniversaries spent together and had so much fun wondering who will be added to our family that we are yet to meet by the time we celebrate #10.
