Showing George our city

We've had a wonderful first week taking full advantage of our time with Andrew. We've dragged our little newborn all over town with us, taking his big sister swimming at the playground, exploring the beautiful new nature walk at the pond, strolling the zoo, walking along Michigan Avenue, grocery shopping at our fabulous Whole Foods (3 times) and baby shopping too. We hit a major road block this weekend when I fell completely ill with what turns out to be a kidney infection. Andrew has taken over and become Mr. Mom so beautifully allowing me time to rest and recover. He's been enjoying long runs with Eloise in the jogger and even took her to the beach this afternoon. I must feel better so that I can enjoy another fantastic week with our family of four.

Grandpa Walker to Eloise as they're leaving the hospital: "Elle, do you like your baby brother?"
Elle: "A little bit, but not much."

Kappa Kids

Elle and Carrie (almost 6 months)

John (almost 2), Elle and Carrie

Elle needs to work on her duo bathtub etiquette. John was not a fan of her dumping water on his head over and over again.

Kate is in Chicago for the weekend with her family to visit her sister and us. We had fun getting our kids together for a pizza party last night. We didn't sink the biz, but we bathed the kids.

Big girl bed!

Eloise has been sleeping in her new big girl bed since Sunday. Being a big girl can be a bit of an adjustment...here is how Andrew found her soundly sleeping around 1 am this morning.

Happy 6th Anniversary to us!

We had a wonderful anniversary celebration beginning with great friends at Bernard's Bar in the new Elysian hotel and ending with a long and relaxing dinner for the two of us at the Four Seasons sitting in front of a terrific jazz trio. Andrew recreated our wedding centerpieces with beautiful peonies, hypernicum berries and limes, showed Eloise our wedding album, and we are about to sit down to our yearly viewing of our wedding video. Our wedding night was magical and we are so thankful for each day that we are blessed to spend together.

Circus Cupcakes

I took Eloise to a cupcake decorating class at Sweet Mandy B's today. The theme was circus and we decorated 4 delicious cupcakes...a clown, elephant, lion and monkey. What fun!
