Leprechaun Leaping
Most of you know that Andrew has made the goal of swimming in Lake Michigan every month since we moved into our new house. To satisfy his plunge for March, this weekend he participated in the Leprechaun Leap at our beach. It was a very windy morning with waves were so large we could hear them loudly from our house, so it probably wasn't the best day ever to run into the lake. In fact, his swims in December, January and February all seemed downright balmy compared to this quick swim in March. But he did it and warmed up by the fire while drinking hot cocoa and eating corned beef - plus we were there to cheer him on and he got a cozy green hoody as a momento of a really cold morning.

Winter Lake
Okay, so I know how crazy this may sound, but I think that I prefer the beach in the winter. It's quiet and reflective and ever-changing and exciting and so very beautiful. Here are some snaps from our beach exploration this weekend (and the sledding hill is on the path walking down to the beach).

Snow fort sledding hill
Andrew's been working late at night after work on his 2 story snow fort and even added a sledding hill this week. The kids are enjoying it in the afternoons, and as usual, Andrew and I take a few runs on it late night long after they are in bed. The neighbors must literally think we're nuts. Or awesome. But probably nuts.
