Our weekend in words

farmers market and eating deliciously sweet corn on the cob uncooked, coffee, beautiful sunny and hot weather, cleaning our house for showings (as usual...), donuts, long walks, a quick visit from Nonna and GW, Baccino's, swimming in a pool, relaxing in a lazy river and splashing in a water park, grilling, Maize's haircut, a visit with Aunt Char, colds for Mom and Ellebelle, chasing butterflies, dodging bees, loving our time together with our family of four.

Little Swimmers

We've spent every Monday morning with a fantastic group of Moms and kids ever since Elle was just several months old. We are so thankful for these friendships, both for Eloise and myself. Our group has grown recently with new siblings being born (the oldest of which is on the left, the youngest of which is George). This photo was taken at the pool this week. We are missing two of Elle's favorite friends in the photo, Griffin and Drake.

Weekend in our town

our tall ship

Navy Pier

We hit the open waters of Lake Michigan on a 135 ft sailboat on Saturday. The weather was perfect for a morning sail. Eloise and George really enjoyed their first sail on the seas. The sway of the water kept George asleep the entire time and Eloise kept us on our toes keeping her from climbing the poles and rails. A great way to spend one of the last weekends of the summer.

Other activities of the weekend included a 3rd birthday party at our favorite park for one of Elle's very best friends, strolling, grilling, and cuddling with our pup...

Saugatuck

We are so lucky to have just returned from another trip to the beach. We kicked off the weekend by celebrating Nonna's 60th birthday. Andrew returned home after the weekend, but the kids and I stayed until yesterday morning. Eloise had a great time with her cousins playing in the sand and refusing to go to bed. We not only ran around the sand and swam in the warm lake, but we wandered the towns of Saugatuck, Douglas and Holland and also went blueberry picking. It's always hard to leave on the last day of the cottage for the summer. We waved goodbye to the beautiful lake as we drove away to head back home (same lake at home, yes...but yet not quite the same). Eloise cried for home throughout the week, but since we've been home 1 day, she's been crying for the cottage and her family. She misses everyone already.

Little Picasso's

A favorite activity at our house is coloring. We don't want to leave little brother out on the fun, so we've been giving him a crayon to hold in his tiny hands. He loves any chance to be close to his sis.
